Join us in the HPC AI Innovation Challenge to leverage artificial intelligence and high-performance computing to reimagine processes and accelerate solutions that will bring about sustainable enterprise growth, enhance citizen services, and build sustainable technologically advanced smart cities.

Participants are encouraged to showcase innovative solutions in these four key domains: 

  • Manufacturing, Trade, and Connectivity (MTC)
  • Human Health & Potential (HPP)
  • Smart Nation & Digital Economy (SNDE)
  • Urban Solutions and Sustainability (USS)

This Challenge is open to government agencies, local enterprises & students from institutes of higher learning. Shortlisted finalists are expected to deliver a prototype during the solution submission stage. They will be given access to resources including training, mentorship from subject experts and HPC resources. 

There will be 3 categories for this Challenge:

  • Students (Junior) – We welcome teams representing local polytechnics and ITEs in Singapore.
  • Students (Senior) – We welcome teams representing local universities in Singapore.
  • Open – We welcome teams representing government agencies, local enterprises, and startups.

 

Team Size: 2-5 Pax/Team*

*Include at least 1 Singaporean/Permanent Resident/ Work Pass/ Student Pass Holder. Please refer to the entry criteria below.

The High-Performance Computing Artificial Intelligence Innovation Challenge by NSCC offers innovators the opportunity to harness high-performance computing resources and accelerate the creation of transformative AI solutions, addressing one or more of the following challenge statements:

 

  • Manufacturing, Trade and Connectivity

As we journey towards the Singapore Economy 2030 Vision, with the four key pillars of Trade, Enterprise, Manufacturing, and Services, this technological convergence will guide us to chart the next lap of growth, empowering businesses to thrive and innovate in a rapidly evolving landscape.

  • Human Health & Potential

The convergence of High-Performance Computing and Artificial Intelligence offers transformative capabilities that are revolutionising the healthcare industry, optimising patient care, and unlocking the potential of human health and capabilities in unprecedented ways. 

  • Smart Nation & Digital Economy

In a digitally advanced Singapore, people are empowered to live meaningful and fulfilling lives, seamlessly enabled by technology, which opens exciting opportunities for everyone. This Digital-first approach integrates a Digital Government, Digital Economy, and Digital Society, leveraging technology to bring transformation in health, transport, urban living, government services, and businesses.

  • Urban Solutions and Sustainability

Integrating artificial intelligence and high performance computing with initiatives such as The Singapore Green Plan 2030, which includes five key programs – City in Nature, Energy Reset, Sustainable Living, Green Economy, and Resilient Future – Singapore can spearhead the development of smarter, more resilient, and eco-friendly environments, leading to a greener and more sustainable planet for future generations. 

Team Requirements

2. As part of your application, you will be required to register a team with a minimum of 2 members and maximum of 5 members.

  • These will be the key members liaising with the organisers in case your proposal is selected to proceed to the solution development phase.
  • Only registered members will be eligible to receive trial accounts to access HPC resources, and to attend the mentor consultation and training sessions.
  • Team to include at least 1 Singaporean/ Permanent Resident/ Work Pass/ Student Pass holder based in Singapore working for Research Institutes, registered company or studying in an IHL.

2. The majority of your team must be able to be physically present in Singapore to participate in the Solution Development Phase activities and Solution Day.

3. Your team will be required to appoint a team leader with the following roles and responsibilities:

  • Act as the main liaison with the organisers, coordinate team matters and disseminate information to the rest of the team;
  • Update the organisers if there are any changes to the team members; and
  • Act as the team representative to receive the cash prize and other prizes. The organisers will not be liable for any disputes after disbursing the prizes to the appointed representative.

Participating as Overseas Organisations 

Organisations based outside of Singapore may participate in the Challenge by:

  1. Partnering with a Singapore-based organisation of their choosing; or
  2. Indicating their interest to set up a presence in Singapore in the next six months and following through with it.
