NSCC's 10th Anniversary Dinner: Celebrating a Decade of HPC Milestones, People and Impact

On Friday, 31 July 2026, National Supercomputing Centre (NSCC) Singapore hosted our 10th Anniversary Dinner at Mandarin Oriental Singapore to celebrate our journey over the past decade — reflecting our key milestones and reaffirming our commitment to advancing Singapore’s research and innovation ecosystem in the years ahead.

Embracing the theme “Charting the Future of Innovation”, the evening brought together approximately 160 guests, including our Guest-of-Honour Mr Heng Swee Keat, Chairman of National Research Foundation (NRF) Singapore, senior leaders from NSCC and Agency for Science, Technology and Research as well as representatives from government agencies, research institutions, Institutes of Higher Learning (IHLs) and industry partners.

Executive Director of NSCC, Dr Terence Hung, formally opened the event with his Welcome Address, which reflected on NSCC’s 100-fold growth in compute capacity over the last 10 years, outlining our mission to become a trusted strategic partner that not only advances Singapore’s high performance computing (HPC) infrastructure, but also empowers our users to drive the future of innovation for the nation.

Following this, Mr Heng Swee Keat delivered his Opening Address, highlighting the pivotal role that HPC plays in supporting Singapore’s research ecosystem and broader national technology initiatives.

Later in the evening, Mr Heng Swee Keat was joined by Mr Quek Gim Pew, Chairman of NSCC Steering Committee and Dr Terence Hung for the official launch of the 10th Anniversary Light Up Ceremony, accompanied by a celebratory stage toast and a pop of confetti — symbolising a decade of pioneering compute capabilities, as well as what is to come in the next.

Following this, an awards ceremony was held to recognise the individuals who have played critical roles in shaping the evolution of Singapore’s HPC ecosystem, Mr Heng Swee Keat presented awards to six distinguished individuals whose contributions have been instrumental to NSCC’s journey.
