Finnish Business Council Visits NSCC Singapore’s Data Centre

NSCC Singapore had the pleasure of hosting a delegation from the Finnish Business Council Singapore (FBC) at our Data Centre located at Innovation 4.0 building in National University of Singapore. The visit offered an exclusive, behind-the-scenes tour of ASPIRE 2A/2A+, Singapore’s national supercomputers, and provided a platform for engaging dialogue on high performance computing (HPC) and sustainable data centre operations.

Finland and Singapore share a long-standing relationship in high performance computing (HPC) through our close collaboration with CSC Finland, our Finnish counterpart and national HPC centre. This partnership was further strengthened by the MOU signed between NSCC Singapore and CSC Finland at SupercomputingAsia (SCA) 2025.

During the visit, the FBC delegation explored the unique challenges and opportunities of managing HPC infrastructure in Singapore’s tropical climate, discussed best practices in sustainable data centre management, and exchanged insights on resource allocation strategies to support national research and development priorities. The session also highlighted a range of national projects made possible through NSCC Singapore’s supercomputing capabilities.

We look forward to deepening these ties and exploring new joint initiatives between Singapore and Finland’s scientific and tech communities.
