NSCC Singapore in Action at ISC2025

NSCC Singapore was proud to represent the nation’s high performance computing (HPC) ecosystem at the ISC2025, which took place in Hamburg, Germany, from 10 to 12 June 2025. ISC 2025 provided an excellent platform for NSCC Singapore to showcase Singapore’s cutting-edge HPC infrastructure, engage with international partners, and drive conversations around the future of supercomputing.

From the moment the show floor opened, the NSCC Singapore booth at G10 was abuzz with activity with numerous delegates coming by to find out more about HPC in the tropics.

Throughout the three days, the NSCC Singapore team engaged with global stakeholders, exploring opportunities for collaboration in areas spanning HPC research topics in artificial intelligence, climate, and more

HPC Around the World – Presentation by Dr Terence Hung, Chief Executive of NSCC Singapore

A key highlight of ISC 2025 was the “HPC Around the World” session, where Dr Terence Hung, Chief Executive of NSCC Singapore, presented updates on Singapore’s national HPC strategy. His presentation highlighted NSCC Singapore’s role in advancing national capabilities in areas such as AI, quantum computing, and computational science. He also outlined the centre’s key priorities—talent development, operational excellence, and capability building— emphasising the efforts in HPC skills development, education and training, community engagement, and optimising energy and performance.

17th Alliance of Supercomputing Centres (ASC) Meeting

Another significant event was the 17th ASC Meeting held on 11 June 2025. The ASC is an international cooperation platform where national HPC centres meet regularly to promote global collaboration and knowledge sharing. The meeting in ISC2025 brought together 37 representatives from 12 member countries and states across Asia Pacific, Europe, and the United States. The meeting provided an invaluable opportunity for HPC leaders to exchange updates, share best practices, and reinforce the importance of global cooperation in advancing HPC capabilities and addressing the evolving needs of scientific research and technology.

NSCC Singapore Networking Night

NSCC Singapore also hosted a special Networking Night during ISC 2025, gathering partners and members of the international HPC community for an evening of meaningful conversations and new connections with Singapore’s HPC community. The event showcased Singapore’s vibrant HPC ecosystem and served as a catalyst for building partnerships aimed at advancing research and innovation across the region and beyond.

Congratulations to NUS Team Kent Ridge!

Team Kent Ridge from National University of Singapore (NUS)

NSCC Singapore extends its heartfelt congratulations to Team Kent Ridge from NUS for clinching third place in the virtual segment of the 14th International Student Cluster Competition (SCC) held during ISC 2025.

The SCC, organised by ISC High Performance in collaboration with the HPC-AI Advisory Council, is a prestigious annual event that introduces student teams to the world of high performance computing. Through this competition, students gain hands-on experience in designing, building, and optimising computing clusters to run real-world scientific applications, fostering practical skills and inspiring the next generation of HPC experts.

Team Supernova from Nanyang Technological University (NTU)

NSCC Singapore is proud to have supported both NUS Team Kent Ridge and NTU Team Supernova’s participation in this global competition and celebrates their outstanding achievement, which underscores both their technical excellence and Singapore’s growing strength in nurturing HPC talent.

The NSCC Singapore Delegation to ISC2025.

As ISC 2025 concluded, NSCC Singapore would like to express our gratitude to everyone who visited the booth, joined discussions, and contributed to strengthening the global HPC network. We look forward to continued partnerships and collaborative efforts to harness the power of HPC for the advancement of science, technology, and society.
