NSCC Singapore and AMD Advance AI Talent Development with Hands-On Workshop

As part of continued efforts to build AI and HPC capabilities in Singapore, NSCC Singapore partnered with AMD to conduct a two-day AI-LLM workshop. The workshop was designed to equip developers, engineers, and researchers with practical knowledge in using AMD Instinct™ GPUs and the ROCm™ Software Development Ecosystem for AI and machine learning workloads.

The workshop follows the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between NSCC and AMD at SupercomputingAsia 2025 in March, which marked a joint commitment to accelerate ecosystem growth and talent enablement in Singapore.

Held at the centre’s premises, the workshop provided participants with hands-on experience in GPU programming, performance optimisation, and running inference using tools like SGLang and vLLM. The sessions were led by AMD technical experts and offered valuable insight into real-world AI applications on AMD platforms.

By bridging industry expertise with national infrastructure, the workshop plays a key role in NSCC Singapore’s broader mission to nurture a future-ready HPC-AI local talent pool.
