NSCC Singapore strives for products and services with the highest levels of security and reliability.

Ahead of NSCC Singapore’s upcoming 7th Call for Projects (launching 1 April 2026), a two-part engagement session was held at Nanyang Technological University (NTU) Singapore to equip researchers with practical strategies for effective HPC utilisation and resource planning.
Bringing together Principal Investigators (PIs), researchers, and PhD students, the session focused on enabling participants to better optimise compute usage, benchmark workloads, and accurately estimate resource requirements for upcoming project applications.

A key highlight was the sharing by Dr Nicholas Cheng, NSCC Singapore’s Frontier Team, who introduced tools designed to help users better understand and improve their HPC usage. These included the HPC Copilot, which provides automated insights into job performance, and the HPC Pulse Insights Dashboard, which offers visibility into usage patterns. He also highlighted NSCC’s Communities of Practice, where users can exchange domain knowledge and best practices.

From the research community, Assisant Professor Li Haobo (NTU, School of Chemistry, Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology) shared how HPC enables her work in AI-driven energy chemistry, supporting high-throughput simulations and large-scale model training. She also offered practical insights on structuring workflows and estimating compute needs. Mr Wang Xiyu (NTU, School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering) complemented this with a practical perspective on benchmarking and workload estimation, drawing from his experience as both a researcher and system administrator

The second segment focused on preparing participants for the upcoming project call. Prof Guan Yong Liang, Associate Vice-President (Infrastructure & Programmes), NTU President’s Office, opened the segment, underscoring the strategic role of HPC in advancing research and innovation.
Ms Angie Huang (NSCC Singapore) walked participants through key application requirements under the Strategic Resource Allocation Policy (SRAP), including guidance on resource planning and proposal considerations.
With the 7th Call for Projects opening on 1 April 2026, researchers are encouraged to leverage these insights to strengthen their proposals and fully harness NSCC Singapore’s HPC capabilities.
