Fostering Collaborations with Local and Overseas Partners

This month, NSCC Singapore welcomed two delegations to our data centre, offering visitors a closer look at the ASPIRE 2A and ASPIRE 2A+ supercomputing systems and creating meaningful touchpoints for dialogue on research, technology, and future collaboration.

A*STAR–KoolLogix Joint Lab Delegation

As part of the A*STAR-KoolLogix Joint Lab Initiative, we hosted representatives from the National University of Singapore, the Institute of Technical Education, Singapore Polytechnic, Nanyang Polytechnic, Singapore Management University, and KoolLogix.

The programme opened with an introduction to NSCC Singapore’s role in providing HPC resources to support national research. KoolLogix then shared insights on sustainable data centre cooling and the heat-removal technologies, designed to suit Singapore’s tropical climate. Dr Daniel Wise, Deputy Department Director and Principal Scientist at the A*STAR Institute of High Performance Computing (A*STAR IHPC), provided an update on the Joint Lab’s work in green data centre technologies, highlighting efforts to make high-density computing more environmentally sustainable. The visit concluded with a guided tour of the data centre facilities, allowing participants to see how these advanced cooling technologies operate in a live supercomputing environment.

Joint Universities Computer Centre (JUCC) Hong Kong Delegation

In collaboration with Singapore Advanced Research and Education Network (SingAREN), NSCC Singapore welcomed delegates from the Joint Universities Computer Centre (JUCC) Hong Kong for an exchange of ideas and experiences. The presentations and discussions centred on Singapore’s national HPC infrastructure, Hong Kong’s cross-institutional computing services, and the role of regional high-speed research and education networks. Both sides also shared updates on the growing HPC and AI landscapes in their respective regions.
