NSCC Singapore strives for products and services with the highest levels of security and reliability.
Earlier this month, the National Supercomputing Centre (NSCC) Singapore hosted senior technology and operational leaders from the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) and the Home Team Science and Technology Agency (HTX) for an exclusive learning visit at the ASPIRE 2B Data Centre, home to Singapore’s newest and most powerful national supercomputer. This visit aimed to provide senior officers with practical insights into driving large-scale digital transformation, managing complex technology infrastructure and aligning strategy with operational execution.
We welcomed participants from MHA’s Technology Management Systems Course (TMSC), comprising of leaders responsible for driving programmes, shaping technology strategies, and leading organisational transformation efforts within their respective domains.
NSCC Director of NSCC’s Planning, Development & Business team, Mr Bernard Tan, kickstarted the visit with an overview of NSCC and the role we play in supporting the wider research community – by providing state-of-the-art high performance computing (HPC) resources and championing user enablement initiatives to empower researchers with necessary skills to harness this capability. Mr Tan then elaborated on real-world HPC use cases and applications.
Led by NSCC Director of HPC Capabilities, Dr Michael Sullivan, a guided tour of the facilities offered an up-close and exclusive look of the ASPIRE 2B system, showcasing sophisticated infrastructure that powers Singapore’s supercomputing capabilities. The engagement also included an interactive Q&A session to share more insights.
HTX Principal Specialist Mr Wayne Er presented a token of appreciation to Dr Michael Sullivan and Mr Bernard Tan, following discussions and exchanges between HTX and NSCC.
