Applications Open for the 2026 ACM Asian School on HPC & AI

The 2026 ACM Asian School on High Performance Computing (HPC) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) is now accepting applications. This prestigious program will take place in Kobe, Japan, from 30 January to 3 February 2026, just after SCA/HPCAsia 2026! RIKEN Center for Computational Science (R-CCS) will be the host of 2026 edition of the school.

The school offers a unique opportunity for the next generation of researchers to gain deep insights into cutting-edge computational technologies, engage in hands-on learning, and network with peers and experts across Asia and beyond.

The school is designed specifically for recent postdoctoral fellows, PhD candidates, and exceptional MSc students who aspire to elevate their research and technical expertise. Over the course of one intensive week, participants will explore the forefront of HPC, AI, and Computational Science, discovering how cutting-edge hardware and software is revolutionising how we scale scientific research to tackle global challenges.

Program Highlights

  • Distinguished Keynote by Professor Kathy Yelick (UC Berkeley)
  • Hands-On Exercises using Fugaku, Asia’s fastest supercomputer.
  • Expert-Led Sessions and Invited Talks
  • Networking Opportunities with talented peers and researchers from across the Asia-Pacific region.

Successful applicants will be provided with accommodation in double-shared rooms and meals during the school programme. In addition, all participants will receive a complimentary one-year ACM student membership, which includes access to ACM’s publications and digital learning resources.

Applications will close on 15 September 2025, and successful applicants will be notified by 15 October 2025.
