Organised by the National Supercomputing Centre (NSCC) Singapore, the International Data Mover Challenge (DMC) 2023 brought together experts from around the world to test their software and solutions for transferring huge amounts of research data. The Centre for Climate Research Singapore (CCRS) of the National Environmental Agency (NEA) held a symposium on 5 Jan 2024 to launch the findings of the 3rd National Climate Change Study (V3) that modelled the next generation of climate projections affecting Singapore and Southeast Asia. NSCC’s high performance computational resources were pivotal in streamlining the V3 study’s computational demands for extensive weather simulations and regional climate modelling. The HPC-AI Advisory Council, National Supercomputing Centre (NSCC) Singapore and National Computational Infrastructure (NCI) Australia, today announced the results of the jointly organized, sixth iteration of the regional APAC HPC-AI student competition. The six-month-long competition included tasks and challenges focusing on tackling the pressing global climate problem and large language model inference through the use of HPC and AI technologies.
