  • Providing technical support to research Projects.
  • Responsible for the management and supervision of some assigned research projects.
  • Work with Project Manager and other supporting functions to prepare project work plan and ensure that milestones are achieved during project.

Working with NSCC director, along with input from the NSCC Steering Committee, the candidate should develop in-house competency to ensure NSCC will have the expertise to

  • Monitor rapidly changing global and regional trends in HPC;
  • Identify strategic domains where we can be competitive in;

  • To identify specific areas of HPC impact, especially in sunrise industries in Singapore;

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Planning and delivery of the overall program and activities, together with the program director, in accordance with the mission and goals of NSC
  • Leading a team of technical engineers/ scientists to develop life science capabilities for NSCC
  • Developing life science technologies for implementation on NSCC’s supercomputers
  • Coordinating and managing projects, in the area of life sciences, between various academic institutes and industrial partners
  • Participating in industrial engagements with potential customers
  • Conducting workshops/ seminars/ conferences to share with the public on technologies available on NSCC platforms
  • Participating in conferences/ road shows etc to demonstrate and promote NSCC’s capabilities
  • The ability to perform ad-hoc research, management and educational duties in areas beyond the area of life sciences.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • PhD in Bioinformatics or Computational Biology or equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years of experience
  • Strong knowledge in machine learning, data mining, regression analysis, statistics and programming (R and/or Python and/or Perl) are required.
  • Prior experience in business development is a plus
  • Candidates must also possess good communication skills and be fluent in both spoken and written English.

JOB DESCRIPTION

NSCC operates a state-of-the-art computing facility used by researchers from both the academia and the industry. These researchers use NSCC’s facilities on a per-project basis, applying for the resources before the commencement of their projects. NSCC requires a senior officer to oversee the entire application process and to track the usage of allocated resources. Since the users are primarily scientists and engineers, the successful candidate will need to be very familiar with these fields. The roles and responsibilities for this position include :

  • Secretariat functions to the project resource allocation committees
  • Tracking of projects allocation usage and deliverables, including weekly and monthly reporting to NSCC management
  • Fronting projects related questions from users

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Degree in Science or Engineering, preferably with a heavy component in a computational science or computational engineering in the coursework
  • A strong command of the English language
  • A minimal of 3 years’ experience either in a similar capacity or in a (dry) laboratory environment as a researcher or engineer
  • A good understanding of scientific or engineering computing, preferably with HPC or supercomputing experience
  • Proven project management experience (formal PM qualifications not required but will be an asset)
  • Familiarity with command-line Linux as a user will be an asset

  • Responsible for planning, installation, configuration and administration of Network Infrastructure.
  • Ensure continued smooth operation of the global network infrastructure focusing on operational reliability and final point of escalation for the network.
  • Lead and participate in projects that affect the global network, meeting massive scaling, reliability, and performance challenges.
  • Work on improving processes and automation for networking infrastructure and supporting systems
  • R&D on new network and security technologies
  • Perform evaluation, proof of concept and provide recommendations
  • Write network related technical specifications for tenders
  • Manage daily network operations

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Mandatory

  • A Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science/Computer Engineering or equivalent
  • 3 years or more of experience in a Network Engineer/Architecture position in an enterprise level network or with an Internet service provider
  • CCNP certified
  • Experience in managing networking technologies (Structured Cabling, WAN, LAN, VPN, Network Security, Wireless).
  • Experience in either network deployment, IP networking or optical experience, or a combination of them.
  • Sound knowledge of IP fundamentals including IP addressing and VLSM, VLAN, and routing configuration.
  • Working knowledge and troubleshooting ability of TCP/IP, routing (BGP, IGPs and MPLS ) and link layer protocols
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Independent mature team player, with initiative, positive attitude and strong passion in networking technologies

Good to have

  • Experience in implementing high-speed network infrastructures at 40Gbps or 100Gbps, IPv6, OpenFlow, SDN and other leading networking technologies
  • Experience working in a Unix/Linux environment at a systems administrator's level and ability to analyse security logs and traffic pattern preferred
  • Experience in developing tools and scripts to manage networks and automate procedures using languages such as Python, Java, JavaScript or C++ will be an advantage.
